CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM TODAY: STOP EXPLOITING AND FRUSRATING THE NIGERIAN GRAADUATES

In my previous post, it was categorically stated that graduates in Nigeria are being treated unfairly by some government agencies and two of them were specifically mentioned. I stand to be corrected and I am not apologetic about that because the truth must be spoken at all cost. Why should they be demanding fees from graduates who are not guaranteed of getting the jobs. Is this right? No! Visit www.actrightnigeria.org for more.

All recruitment procedures whatsoever are suppose to be free and voluntary, because they are in need of the work force to fill in the spaces in their establishment. Why exploit my fellow graduates? It is unfair and dubious.

The Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC) sometime last year requested the south-south graduates to submit their credentials alongside a free for all form - that is how a recruitment process is suppose to be. However, another disappointing thing is the fact that some of these employees don’t follow up employment procedures, as seen with the NDDC, who after 10 months are yet to respond to the applications made last year. Is this right? No! Let us learn to do things holistically without two-timing people. This now looks like a scam because it is yet to be looked into.

Many of my fellow youths are frustrated, and are now getting involved in one form of crime or the other - my heart bleeds. There is a recent spate of kidnapping here and there, cyber crimes and armed robbery included, with some graduates involved- this is not good. I am calling on the government of Nigeria and of other countries to look into the causes of youth restiveness which I believe is 95% unemployment. It is no longer news that we have a challenge of giving jobs to all the youths or a majority of them, but exploitation of graduates will not help matters at all. This has to be checked.

To my fellow youths and graduates, I sincerely apologize to you on behalf of the government who are making promises and some so called agencies(public or private) involved in exploitation of graduates. Please, eschew crimes because dubious ventures would only lead you to disastrous adventures. Move out of your comfort zone today and start a genuine thing today to get the pocket something manageable.

In my next post, I would be talking about some private agencies involved in exploitation of graduates and ways of checking this. Watch out in few days.
